 Intersection Curling Rules Minimize

General

1. Play shall be in accordance with current Canadian Curling Association rules, for team
composition and tournament playoffs.

Team Composition

2. A team shall be composed of a maximum of five players. Small units are permitted to enter teams
in A/R Curling competition

Tournament Format

3. Games may consist of eight or ten ends.

4. The type of tournament will be determined by the host base after confirmation of the number of teams but a complete round robin is preferred unless scheduling prohibits. The playoff format shall be the Paige system.

Tie Breaking Procedures

5. In the case of ties to determine playoff positions, the applicable Canadian Curling Association Rules shall apply:

a. if the first place team has gone through round robin play undefeated and if two teams are tied for the final playoff position then an extra draw shall be played to determined the third playoff position; and

b. if the first place team has lost one game or more in round robin play, and two teams or more are tied, extra draw(s) shall be played to determine the fourth playoff position.


Awards

6. Awards will be presented IAW Annex A to Chapter 3. There will be no separate Small Unit banner or medals.
